DATA STEWARDSHIP

GENERAL
Data of the EUPLANTCROPP-based R&D-projects will be managed using the principles of Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable and Reproducible (FAIR-R). Data will be stored in the data centres of the participating partners in accordance with the guidelines of EUPLANTCROPP. The users may have the right of first use of the data for up to five years after closure of the project. A shorter period and exclusiveness may be arranged between partners and users. Similarly, data may be published by the partners during the period of first use upon agreement with the user.
ACHIEVEMENTS
LEGAL ACT EUPLANTCROPP
The general conditions of data management are part of the Legal Act of EUPLANTCROPP. Members are bound to these conditions participating a EUPLANTCROPP-based R&D-project.
INITIATION OF DATA COLLECTION
We started the first projects to generate data. This data will be generated in a reproducible way and processed according to the FAIR-principle. It serves as a pilot to settle general guidelines of the filling of the EUPLANTCROPP data repository.
STRATEGIC OUTLOOK
We envisage a substantial EUPLANTCROPP-repository of data on efficacy and safety of use of plant compounds in sustainable crop protection. This FAIR-R data needs to be a landmark of quality in agriculture serving public and private interests in an independent manner.
